From a pool of 150 entries from 12 countries, TEKTRO’s new AURIGA Twin+ cargo bike braking system was one of eight Gold Award winners.
The international jury pointed out, “TEKTRO has successfully developed Cargo Bike solutions to meet the demands of new mobility. With the goal of reducing vehicle emissions in cities, the share of cargo bikes in the mobility segment has increased significantly. Whether in parcel delivery, transporting children or larger purchases, the total weight can increase up to 200 kg.
“The special features of the new Tektro AURIGA Twin+ are higher weight approvals and use for special bikes. “A stronger 4-piston brake caliper front and rear with top-loading brake pads for easier maintenance. New 5-mm brake pads to increase durability. New ergonomically designed parking brake lever for easy and safe handling.”

The previous parking brakes have unfortunately not always done that, if only with a lot of force. The highlight is the locking lever integrated into the brake lever to park the bike safely, similar to the handbrake on a car. The TEKTRO AURIGA Twin+ features new 4-piston brake calipers. The larger calipers bring more stability and better cope with the heat generated thanks to their volume. New, stronger 5-mm brake pads extend the service life of the brake systems. For easy brake service, the calipers feature a top-loading function.
